Congratulations on your latest acquisition! I hope it will serve you as you expected.
There was a time when I would consider buying it myself but its weight would make me think twice nowadays. But as far as I can see the images are what you expected.

In that case it would be a waste of money to go FX (although nobody forbids you to spend it). Moreover, consider the weight of these two sizes.

Roland, I don't know what you use your images for, but in general you will not see any difference between the two sensor sizes in prints up to at least 75 cm.

The sensor is very small. Usually about 1/2,5 of an inch. This equates to about 1cm diagonally. So it will about 90mm square.

You are absolutely right.
But there is only one thing that will be the same if it will be a full frame camera: the lenses will be the same size as before, so there won't be any significant weight reduction. And that is exactly what drove me towards a M43 camera.

It seems the new OM5D has a very interesting feature: by means of sensor shift it produces enormous files: 40 megapixels! It has bothered me for a long time. The image coming from a lens is circular shaped. Why not design a sensor that makes as much use of this area as possible? In my opinion, after a careful consideration, the first one is the best. But that might be just a very personal opinion, because I don't like the look of most HDR images. I still think they look a kind of unnatural, although I must say, it has been done very nice and moderately.

Just something I learned from an British photographer during a seminar about 20 years ago. I accepted his idea but did not think I will ever put it into practice. But he turned out to be right. Some time with my Panasonic G6
About half a year ago I bought myself a M43 camera, a Panasonic G6, together with the standard zoomlens 14-42 and the 40-150 telelens. In the meantime I added a 2,8/19 mm Sigma lens to it, bought myself a very small bag for only 2 Euro and I never looked back any more. I still do have one Nikon and ...

A lot of people wear spectacles like bifocals which are a nuisance when photographing. An American photographer is enthusiastic about MFT-cameras and how these solved this problem for him. Re: Tamron 24-70 VC on D800e
It is remarkable how good these lenses from Tamron, Tokina and Sigma have become. Only a few years ago there was quite a difference between the makes of Nikon, Canon and Pentax and the independent lens makers. Nowadays they are almost on par with the originals and often these lenses nicely fill the ...

Re: D400 finally on its way...
1699 euro would be a bargain. I don't expect it to be that cheap. A lot of new technologies will have to be incorporated to make it a major improvement compared to the D300 and, more important than the D7100 and, as we know, this won't come cheap. A change to 24 megapixels won't be enough to make a ...

Re: D400 finally on its way...
Suppose the D400 is coming, what would be the price tag? At present the D7100 is selling for about euro 1000 and the D600 for about euro 1500. I would expect from a marketing point of view a price of about euro 2000. I think it cannot be much higher or most people will go FX.

Re: No new versions of Photoshop CS
Now I am almost at the end of my professional career, I came to the conclusion I don't need the extras of full Photoshop any more. Photoshop Elements will do the job for me. It does almost anything a photographer needs, just the use of 16 bits is something I will miss a little. Combined with Lightro...

No new versions of Photoshop CS
Adobe has announced there will be no new versions of Photoshop CS, just Photoshop CC will remain for the users for a creative cloud users at a rate of at least $ 19.95 a month. This changing of policy will mean I will not use the full version of Photoshop any more as soon as I will stop using my old...

Re: Replacement for D7000?
I agree. A tilt and swivel LCD should be built into every camera. Especially in pro ones while nowadays it is usualy built into the cheapest models instead. But maybe I don't understand the philosophy behind designing cameras.... It reminds me again of my dearly missed cameras for roll films with a ...

Replacement for D7000?
According to Nikon rumors there might be a replacement of the Nikon D7000 coming. This week there will be a press meeting in Thailand (I supposed your week begins at Sunday... ;-) ) What will it bring? More than 16mp? My present D7000 brings me more than enough. More frames per second? I am only usi...

I recognize your concerns. But you don't have to worry, just follow the advice Steve and start with ACR or (much ch...

Re: Nikon 85 AF-S F1.8, sharpest nikkor ever?
Traditionally the 85mm lens is meant for portraits, but I noticed that even on DX format ( Fuji Finepix S2, S3 and S5 and the Nikon D7000) the 85 mm is -at least to my taste- just a little too short to have a comfortable distance between you and the model. I personally would like to use about 135mm ...

Moiré when printing
Some time ago I noticed some very strong moiré in my printed images of a wedding. Not on my screen, but just only in my prints. The groom was wearing a very narrow striped suit in which the moiré showed. After consulting a lot of people and a steadily rising panic at last the solution came from a ph...

Re: Nikon brings the D5200 DSLR
Cameras are -at least for me- coming too often to the market. It looks rather attractive, but I think I will wait for the next generation to come. The difference between my 16 mpx D7000 and 24 mpx is too little to buy a new one. It even is not tempting enough to make me replace my second camera, a 1...
