AA2 is an " A uthorised A nonymous" forum member who has some close contacts @ N. That person had some info in the past at an earlier stage than professional Nikon users, reviewers or commercial websites: his announcement of the D500 when nobody on other fora knew about. He gave interesti...

Z-series IBIS and Z6 high iso...

Whatever Z6 or Z7 , as for myself, the top characteristic of this new Nikon generation is IBIS . Related to Z6, the IQ in lowlight @ iso 12800 is simply amazing… I had D3s & D4 for a long time, D5 for a short time, D750 and a couple more as a reference and I've never seen iso 12800 pictures tha...

Z6 for indoor lowlight action (12fps @ iso 6400)

Z6 impresses me a lot, more than Z7 did, especially for action. A sample picture of indoor (relative lowlight) action photography @ 12 fps:  click on the image to open the picture in a bigger resolution http://www.myphotogallery.name/Z6/Z6CM-comp-1000px.jpg And a crop of the 3th frame of this...

Z6' AF in very low light

As I ordered the Z6 specially for wedding and event photography, testing the Z6' AF ability in extremely lowlight is what I was (very) curious about. This is what I saw in reality: http://www.myphotogallery.name/Z6/Z6-AFLL-scene.JPG And this is what Z6 with 50mm F1.8 captures after locking AF very f...

Shooting with Nikon Z6

I was shooting with a Nikon Z6 combined with the 50mm F1.8 Z and 24-70 F4 S today. As I was testing the Z7 before there were no things to learn about body and handling. :!: I was shooting NEF + jpeg fine but I don't have the software yet to open my Z6 nef files ( I hope to get the new Capture NX-D v...

There exist two versions of Z7 & Z6 cameras

When Z series rumours were getting loud, I have been informed by an insider that all my current F mount lenses will work perfectly on my eventual Z7 or Z6 body... But now, nearly a year later and after having tested Nikon Z extensively, -and even though I consider the FTZ adapter as an engineering m...

The NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f4 S... I LOVE it!

To me, the most seductive element in the Z series next to shooting in silent mode... is the 24-70 F4 lens. Light, compact, silent and fast focusing while delivering top notch IQ is what this lens is and does. I love it. Used on a high MP body likeZ7 it's a Swiss knife, a great travel combo, from lan...

Z7 is a perfect tool for (handheld) macro photography

After several hundreds of pictures with a Z7 + macro lenses I find the Z7 the best Nikon camera I have ever used for macro photography. Shooting in silent mode, and thus vibration free, while looking through the viewfinder is a significant advantage over mirror slap and shutter shock with a DSLR... ...

I had the opportunity to use a Nikon Z7 for a couple of days more... :D  Unfortunately :( I forgot to adjust the date in the camera, which shows February 2nd, while the pictures have been taken on September 21st. If I have to give one reason NOT to recommend a Z7 I would say "Action phot...
