The new optical design, which uses a large-diameter ultra-wide-angle zoom lens with a large-diameter double-sided non-spherical lens on the front ball, achieves both the world's shortest and lightest weight of about 650 g and an open F-value of 2.8.
You can enjoy dynamic work making with ultra wide angle zoom from 14mm more casually. By adopting four ED lenses and three non-spherical lenses, it exhibits high resolution from aperture opening to infinity. Large and beautiful bokeh that highlights the subject is also attractive. Even though it is an ultra-wide angle, the point image reproducibility is also good in the entire zoom area. It achieves optical performance far surpassing the AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED, including high backgurging resistance due to arneocoats and nanochrystal coats. In addition, it is possible to attach a filter, and it realizes the depiction as expected regardless of still image / movie shooting with a powerful sense of scale.

Note: For interchangeable zoom lenses compatible with digital cameras (Nikon FX format) with an open F value of 2.8 constant starting from a focal length of 14 mm or less, which has been announced as of September 16, 2020. Nikon research.
