Greetings from Washington DC!

Well, almost. I live in Bethesda, MD which is suburban Washington area. My name is Gregory Safchuk and I'm posting here for the first time. I have been on DP Review for a number of years under the name "Marker". I don't have a website as such, but some of my work is posted on pbase as well as DPhoto.us. It's eclectic and not very organized. Links below, in case anyone would like to have a look.

I haven't uploaded very much recently, but I will make a greater effort from now on. Many of the images on the pbase site date from my early film days (vintage 1970"s) and my interest in motorsports - specifically drag racing. Anyone who has attempted to digitize more than a few film images at a high level of quality, will have tremendous appreciation for the abilities of modern day DSLR's. Noise? What noise? I remember shooting 400 ASA (before ISO) film and looking through a curtain of grain (analog version of "noise").

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and become familiar with the folks here on this forum.

Greetings, Gregory. I like your landscape and garden gallery (I´m not so keen on funny cars ;))
Isn´t it great to see, that the lowly Fuji S2 still is such a lovely camera and has such great colors?

Thanks all. I was beginning to wonder if anyone was going to say hello. I guess we're all pretty busy. Good to hear from you. Hang in there Stany, keep up the good work.

I have sold both my Fuji S2's. I have some regrets looking back at what it could do. I shoot only now with the Nikon D300. Great for just about everything, but there is just something about those Fuji colors.... I miss.

Hi Gregory,
I did the same road, from S2pro over S5pro to Nikon, I find D700 colour output to be very similar to Fuji S5pro. Did you try to make your own in-camera setting while pushing saturation and tone a little? It worked, @ least I am very pleased with the results.
