Hi! I'm Gilbert and it becomes time i wish you all a fine and healthy newyear 2014 with a lot of photographic moments! Thanks for your wishes on the forum too - very much appreciated.
67 years old and crazy about photographing and gear (a little bit the GAS syndrom, but faiding at the moment). Herited from my grandfather i suppose who was the first (at the time) to build his own radio and using photographic equipment (these old boxes with nice copper lenses, you know).
So, via a lot of brands of apparatus (Pentax, Minolta, Ricoh, you name it...) arrived at Nikon (still in the filmperiod): F1,2,4S and 5. Then almost by accident went digital: D70S, D40,... finally D3 which i still own and keep. BUT, early 2013 Fuji arrived with me with the XE1 and i was lost: couldn't understand how this was possible as the image qualtity went up although the use of APS-C sensor!
Consequently for quick actions-shots we use the Nikon and for travelling and sightseeing the Fuji's, simple.
All the best to you and if you would like to know more (of me or gear) i would be glad to answer (if i can).

Hi Gilbert,
Rita and myself are very happy that you joined this little photo club.
Thank you.

With something like 20 active more members this forum could become a very nice photo community.

Kindest regards,
Rita and Stany

Welcome here Gilbert.
As Stany says, it is a quit forum here but it is above all friendly here.
Not with all the aggressive undertones you have on so many other forums.
I like it here very much.
Hope to enjoy a lot off work by you here.

Kindest regards, Gino
