2011 March 11th, An earthquake and tsunami hit Japan.
Today March 12th, the disaster's massive impact seems worse, much worse than anybody dared to fear, even a nuclear disaster as a result of the earthquake is not excluded right now.
CNN seems to be a good source for latest minute information about this terrible catastrophy.
All visitors of this forum have some kind of relation with Japan because of their high standards on the manufacturing of photographic equipment. The city of Sendai where an important Nikon plant is, has been struck badly. After some witnesses reports on Dpreview nobody there seems to be hurt even though the factory is damaged.

Let our prayers go to those Japanese and foreign people who died in this disaster, to those who suffer at this moment and to give power to those who will build up this fantastic country once again.

Even though I hope they will, I wonder if Japan will ever recover from this disaster. I was reading that geology experts expect several more shocks to come because pressure on the continental crack line has risen. Next to all that geological power the impact of nuclear pollution which is probably much worse than authorities admit...
