Post by Stany Buyle »

ViewNX 2.2.1 Full Version

From the Nikon UK website:
https://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/50408
ViewNX 2 is an all-in-one image browsing and editing software application for both still images and movies.

ViewNX 2 users can adjust image size and brightness. New editing functions enable cropping and image straightening for RAW-, TIFF- and JPEG-format images. It also enables adjustment of white balance and exposure compensation for RAW images captured with Nikon digital cameras. It is also compatible with my Picturetown, Nikon's image storage and sharing service.

Nikon Transfer 2 has been incorporated into ViewNX 2 for transferring images to a computer, and functions for editing movies, including one that allows you to trim movie footage, have also been added.

This is the full install version of ViewNX 2.2.1 for Windows and Macintosh computers. If you are currently using ViewNX 2 this download will upgrade the existing software to version 2.2.1. This software supports all Nikon D-SLR cameras and all COOLPIX cameras with USB support.

Be sure that you have read and understand the terms of the license agreement before initiating download of this software from the links at the bottom of this page.

Modifications that apply to both the Windows and Macintosh versions
Support for the Nikon 1 J1, COOLPIX AW100/AW100s and Nikon 1 V1 has been added.
Support for the Smart Photo Selector and Motion Snapshot functions built into the Nikon 1 J1 and Nikon 1 V1 has been added.
- All images captured in Smart Photo Selector mode, or just the “best shot” in an SPS series, can be displayed.
– Playback similar to that of camera playback is possible for Motion Snapshot files.
– Motion Snapshot files can be uploaded to my Picturetown.
An “exclude” option has been added to ratings.
Movie ratings can now be changed. However, ratings cannot be applied to movies that were not originally rated.
When Highlight Protection was applied to RAW images captured with the P7000, areas around the portion to which this function was applied became dark. This issue has been resolved.
An issue that prevented the correct display of flash compensation value for images captured with the D3100 using the SB-900 has been resolved.
When the Auto Lateral Color Aberration function was applied to some RAW images, gray edges were displayed in some portions of the subject. This issue has been resolved.
An issue that caused JPEG images edited or saved with ViewNX 2 to be saved at a high compression ratio has been resolved.
Support for transferring the following files has been added to Nikon Transfer 2.
– Files recorded using the Smart Photo Selector function
– Files recorded using the Motion Snapshot function
– GPS log files recorded with the AW100/AW100s
– MPO (3D) files
An “exclude” option has been added to Nikon Transfer 2 ratings.
An Always use ratings applied on original files (supported camera only) check box has been added to the Nikon Transfer 2 Preferences panel.
Movie ratings can now be changed with transfer using Nikon Transfer 2. However, ratings cannot be applied to movies that were not originally rated.
The Start Transfer button in the Nikon Transfer 2 window is now larger.
An issue that prevented Nikon Transfer 2 recognition of a memory card inserted in slot 2 when the D7000 was connected to the computer has been resolved.

For specific changes made to either Windows or Macintosh operating systems please read the section below.

Additional modifications to the Windows version
When the Pictures Library was viewed with ViewNX 2 under Windows 7, images saved to the folder sometimes were not displayed in the image view area. This issue has been resolved.
When Open With was selected for a RAW image displayed in ViewNX 2 Image Viewer mode, and the image was opened in Photoshop Camera Raw, the Image Viewer window was grayed out and a message indicating that the file was of an unsupported type was displayed. This issue has been resolved.
In some rare cases, when ViewNX 2 was launched on a system with a shortcut to an active server page, an Internet connection error was displayed. This issue has been resolved.
Restrictions on the number of movies and still images that can be added to the storyboard in Nikon Movie Editor, as well as restrictions on total length, have been reduced. (With the modification, 10 movies, or a total of 30 movies and still images, can be added. Total length has been increased to 60 minutes.)
The Slide (Up, Down, Left, Right) transition effect in Nikon Movie Editor has been changed to Blinds (Up, Down, Left, Right) effect.
When unique characters were entered in XMP/IPTC fields in the Polish version of Nikon Transfer 2 (Windows), the text string entered was deleted and only the unique characters remained. This issue has been resolved.

Additional modifications to the Macintosh version
Mac OS X version 10.4 is no longer supported.
An issue that caused altitude in GPS data with GPX log matching to be displayed as a negative value has been resolved.
Files exceeding 2 GB in size can now be transferred with Nikon Transfer 2 under Mac OS X version 10.5.8.

Notes
When transferring files using Nikon Transfer 2:
- Image transfer using Nikon Transfer 2 is not possible with the following cameras: COOLPIX 910/900/600/300/100
- Image transfer using Nikon Transfer 2 with the camera connected to the computer is not possible with the cameras indicated below. Use a card reader to transfer images.
Windows
- D1, D1X, D1H
- COOLPIX 950/800/700
- COOLPIX 990/880 (under Windows 7)
Macintosh
- COOLPIX 950/800/700

Restrictions on Nikon Movie Editor
1. Movies up to 60 minutes in length can be edited with the Windows version; movies up to 30 minutes in length can be edited with the Macintosh version.
2. The following restrictions on the number of movies and still images that can be added to the storyboard apply.
Windows
– A project containing up to 10 movies, or a total of 30 movies and still images, can be previewed and exported.
Macintosh
– A project containing 4 H.264 (1920 × 1080) movies and 2 still images can be previewed and exported. However, when H.264 movies recorded at 720p and lower are used, the number of movie files and still images that can be used in a project increases.
In addition, when only Motion JPEG (1080p) movies are used, a project containing up to 30 movies can be previewed and exported.

NRW (RAW) images
When images captured at a white balance setting of Auto and an image quality setting of NRW (RAW) are enhanced using ViewNX 2, the results achieved may differ from those achieved with in-camera NRW (RAW) processing.

Ratings applied with a COOLPIX camera
Ratings applied with a COOLPIX camera in playback mode are not reflected in ViewNX 2 or other applications that support ratings.

H.264 movie playback under Windows
Tones will be softer and colors will appear lighter in movies played back on a computer running Windows.

H.264 movie playback and editing on a Macintosh
Operation may be extremely slow on PowerPC models.

Display of MPO-format images shot in 3D
MPO-format images shot in 3D can only be viewed with a viewer that supports 3D images.

COOLPIX S550, S560, L20 and L19 Smile mode
Scene mode information is not correctly displayed in the Metadata palette for images captured in Smile mode.
However, all other operations function properly.

COOLPIX AW100/AW100s Underwater mode
The Exposure Mode item in the Metadata palette is blank for images captured in Underwater scene mode.
