Nikon raises prices

Post by Leen Koper »

It seems Nikon is to raise its prices in the beginning of February. Thom Hogan (http://www.bythom.com/) allready predicted it a few days ago, but yesterday all dealers in the Netherlands received the message from Nikon. I decided to order a D90 and a 70-300 today before the price will be higher.
Anyone who wants to buy new gear? Do it now.

I planned to buy a Nikkor PC-E 45 this year and I´m thinking of buying it now.
The question is by how much will prices be increased.

I don't know yet, but if it is more than the inflation rate of 2-3% it is worth buying. ;-)
But, use a dealer who has it in stock; else you will have to pay the raised price. BTW, Nikon will not be the only one ; Canon, Pentax and Sony are to follow

I have ordered it from a dealer who has it in stock, for 1.500 Euros.
Price increases will be around 15 % I heard.

Is that inclusive of VAT?
That is extremely cheap! I am glad I warned you. BTW, you can sleep quiet, I don't ask a fee for my tip.

Leen, this is probably a grey market lens. In case I should have a problem, the dealer will have to grant warranty.
The only problem I might have is barrel distortion, but I hope it is only slight and can be corrected in PS.
