D4X to be released soon?
Found the underneath message on Dpreview, posted by "varuas".
Such a release, -although spectacular- seems nothing more than another logical step after D800 with 36Mp.
If true, it would be a real tough competitor for MF...
If fake, it's a handsome way by B&H PR department to get some attention and free advertising...

It is incredible; 54.6 mpx! It is quite an (r)evolution if we remember we were very satisfied with 6mpx only a few years ago.

Wow, this will be one exciting camera ... the price looks realistic, too.

Consider it like a Ferrari: you don't need it, but it is always just a little fun to see one. How many people really need that enormous number of megapixels? And, more important, how many people might be able to see the difference in a print at 40x60 cm between a d7000 and such a camera?

My thoughts exactly Leen.
There will only be a few who really need it.

Re: D4X to be released soon?
need never stopped most people buying 'stuff'
I don't 'need' most of my stuff.
Most of it is convenience (improvements in certain areas . i don't need 6fps. can't ever remember using it for a job or hobby use)
However problems do usually crop up when changing my cameras. I'm usually on upgrade behind with PS and ACR won't upgrade to use it without upgrading PS. I recently upgraded to CS5 and can use my D7000 NEFs directly.. If I change to 'anything' new... it is another cycle again.
I do wish you could just pay for ACR updates. most of the PS changes/improvements are redundant for me... but they won't.
my 2 cents
