I don't think a D400 will come soon, more a D7000 successor. 8-)

no announcement then..

I agree. D7100 more likely.

Shame for the D300/s shooters.. it's been a long time since they had anything to look forward to. :(

Suppose the D400 is coming, what would be the price tag? At present the D7100 is selling for about euro 1000 and the D600 for about euro 1500. I would expect from a marketing point of view a price of about euro 2000. I think it cannot be much higher or most people will go FX.

Good evening Leen,
I expect 1699 euro launch price.
With 24Mp, a new AF system and 9 fps this will be a perfect sports, wildlife, macro and action camera. :o Combined with long teles it makes the whole less expensive than FX for the same focal.( 600mm vs 400mm)
I'm in. :D

Kindest regards,

Stany

1699 euro would be a bargain. I don't expect it to be that cheap. A lot of new technologies will have to be incorporated to make it a major improvement compared to the D300 and, more important than the D7100 and, as we know, this won't come cheap. A change to 24 megapixels won't be enough to make a difference to most buyers. What did the D300 initially cost?

I don´t think Nikon will be able to charge the same price the D300 initially cost, it will have to compete against the D7100 and the D600. The market has changed somewhat in the past 4 years me thinks. I think 1700 Euros is realistic, even if it implements a lot of tech from the D4.

I wonder what sensor will be used, as I was not too fond of the colors I saw in the D7100 images I´ve seen so far.

D400 announcement in September.

Post by AA2 »

After all other delayed announcements in the past two years (D800 ect.) D400 finally will be announced this September.
If no tsunamis or floods, 100% sure.
