Too late, Nikon

Today Nikon announced a new camera, the D5000, the bottom of the line up of camera's. The camera has live view and a 180 degrees tilt and swivel LCD.

Finally an amateur camera has a feature that I always longed for in the studio. I've always been fond of my waist level viewfinder of Hasselblad and my Mamyia. I even looked into it from the side with portraiture, so much I was attached to it. When I went digital, seven years ago, I missed this dearly and I still do. I missed it so much, that I even bought a Minolta 200 -and used it for several month- to be able to look at my viewfinder from above. Now, finally, the D5000 has the same feature, right at the moment I am retiring from studio photography.

I can understand the frustration, but you could at least partially solve the issue with an angle viewfinder (the solution I am using) or a Zigview (an orientable screen you can put on the viewfinder)

You are absolutely right, but I don't like angle viewfinders and Zigview came to the market when I was accustomed to the viewfinder of my Fuji. But it might have been a solution. :-)
