Cheap pano rail?
Anyone know where I can get a cheap pano rail without making one? I'm not handy at manufacturing stuff. I have a pano ball head already, so what I need is a way to be able to have the camera sit at 90 degrees sideways and be able to move the camera forward and back to correct the angle as it pivots. I made one out of an old flash bracket, but it's old and I'm worried that it will fail and my D700 will fall to the concrete below. I don't need a super precise rail, just something that can mount to my ballhead securely and that I can move the camera back and forth. Thanks for any advice. If there isn't a cheap solution, I'll keep using my free Sunpak off camera bracket that works wonderfully, but I'm worried about the threads and the weight of the camera exerting pressure on them constantly. Thanks, Chris

Here's the ball head I'm using.

You can see here the bracket I'm using. I simply removed the L looking slide bracket where you'd normally mount your camera to this off camera bracket and then attack the end that allows you to remove the camera connector to the ballhead. So, how can I do something like this, but more reliably and cheaply as I've done here? Thanks.

Re: Cheap pano rail?
I'm thinking something like this might work. I'll just remove and discard the flash mount and screw the ball head plate into the existing threads. At least it's cheap. My ballhead already can swivel from landscape to portrait built into it, so I don't really need a 90 degree bracket, but if you guys can think of something that would do what I need it to do for a low price, let me know.
