I'm actually visiting the PhotoKina fair in Cologne.
I will post some pictures, comments and impressions later on this week...

Birds of prey show at PhotoKina...
While I drove to PhotoKina I picked up my 28-300 AF-S VR at audiophil in Aachen.
The birds of prey show at PhotoKina was a nice occasion to test the 28-300 AF-S' AF speed and sharpness...
At first sight I'm happy with this lens' performance -very good sharpness and quite fast focusing-, but I have to run some real tests at home
Some pictures:
D700 + 28-300 AF-S VR @ 190mm, iso 800, 1/400 sec, F8
D700 + 28-300 AF-S VR @ 190mm, iso 800, 1/640 sec, F8
D700 + 28-300 AF-S VR @ 190mm, iso 800, 1/2500 sec, F7.1
D700 + 28-300 AF-S VR @ 300mm, iso 800, 1/1250 sec, F7.1

Nice shots of that bird, Stany.
Will you keep the 28-300 VR? I am taking a long hard look at the 24-120/4 VR. Next year I might get the latter.

No. I am planning to buy a D3100 or a D7000 with a 18-200 AF-Spam.meier wrote:Will you keep the 28-300 VR?.
That's a lens I am considering for my FX, I'm actually testing one, it's great. Possible replacement for my beloved 28-105...pam.meier wrote: I am taking a long hard look at the 24-120/4 VR. Next year I might get the latter.
