Some news

Post by ray barlow »

Well, it was interesting this last few weeks, I recieved an email from an exhibition manager for the Royal Photographic Society, a woman named Diana, she is organizing a private exhibition which will take place in London UK, Romania, and Salisbury UK this spring... I am one of 5 photogs from around the world, who was invited to participate. We each provide Diana with 12 images, of birds only. The RPS is one of the most presigious photography organizations in the world, started in 1853, so it is quite exciting for us.

The hard part will be choosing 12 images!

Anyhow, here are a few recent shots...

Hey Ray,

Let me know more details, I live and work in Salisbury - I'll go get shots of the exhibition if you want?

I also travel to London with work quite often, but that's a much bigger place and I don't get as much free time there.

Congratulations :o)

Congratulations! It seems quite an honour to me. Please inform us about the exact date and place. Maybe I 'll be in the UK by then. (Not in Sarajewo, a little to far away) The RPS is a pretty prestigious organisation.
Now the selection process will start. I know, as soon as you made a first selection you miss certain images, but won't skip others and so on and so forth. It is a long and painful process.

thanks to both of you!! I would love some pictures!

i plan to create a webpage with all the details, including the other 4 photographers who were invited, the locations, dates, etc.

I spent the afternoon working online with the RPS Artist, Elena ... she works in the nature group, and she is such a fine person!, Diana is already making comments on my pbase images., so generous with her time. She is now lecturing in Romania, until the 21st, and then we will start hearing about more details.

We have decided to do an owl theme, so picking 12 of my best owl images shouldn't be too hard., I might create a gallery with my 40 favourites, and see if everyone can help me choose., she wants them printed in size A3... so this will help me decide what works best for this size.

might be fun.

Fantastic pictures, a question...

How can you go so close to these animals? Are they not shy?
D100 and 28-105 lens, no money for more, but happy...
Greetings from Gent, Frans.

thanks., and yes, they are shy.. I use a 200-400 mm lens, which helps.. the Coyote was shot with the 200-400 mm + 1.7x teleconvertor.

It has taken me 3 and one half years for me to learn these skills, and I learn new things every day !! thanks!
