Very nice! Just one question: How is the focusing speed of the lens on D300? Contemplating to get one myself..

Hey lenz,
As far as focusing speed concern its really superb.
d300 i put on prime range as it has industry's superb expid technology and in full daylight you get very noticeable noise with even ISO 800 or 1000 depends on condition.

i am getting good flight shots of kingfisher and some more faster birds.
check peregrine falcon shot i've got on my site which is like super sonic speed and i managed to get it.

also i've got some nice action in flight too which is good focus result
and all above i am using 80-400 old screw driven slow AF lens. if that can give this result you will sure get much much better with AF-S series lenses.
