Some recent macros & hooverfly in flight...
Puh...it's hot...
"Another stupid human with his camera..."
They allow pictures when they are sitting still...
But they hate to be photographed while flying...
In the best case they show themselves half...
Finally a good one...

Thanks, yes I like it too, it's the first really good one after many trials for this kind of shot.
And it's with AF, I wrote a topic about the incredible Nikon AF system in another topic and on Dpreview. I took a long time before I mastered the Nikon AF as I wished, but now I'm coming close to my expectations... Also the D3/D700 AF system has improved very much since D2X and D200. I even found D2X inferior to the D1X AF module...
kindest regards,
Stany

Great work Stany!
I can't believe the rabid goofball on dpr who said it was an easy capture, blah blah.
I have tried to capture ANY insect in midair, and its near impossible. The D3/D700 is in a league of its own. And strangely the D300 is pretty darn close :)

These are great! I think the caterpillers are gross though, but I don'tlike insects that much. The others are not gross to me and I love the nice green bokeh a lot!
