Kalahari Leopard cubs.

My first posting here!
Whilst staying at Deception Valley Lodge in the Kalahari, one of the highlights was the ability of our guide and tracker to track down a pair of 5/6 month old Leopard cubs, 1 male, 1 female.
They had initially followed the mothers spoor for nearly 1 1/2 hours and whilst not finding her, they successfully found her 2 cubs.
Some of the best tracking I had ever seen and a real tribute to Adriann and Xhega.
It's hard to believe these cubs are from the same litter, however cats in the wild frequently have multiple * partners and because of the way their reproductive system works,
it is possible for each kitten in a litter to have a different father. Cats are induced ovulators, meaning that they drop an egg when stimulated by the breeding male.
The female on the left is quite dark with Cheetah/honey colored eyes, whereas the male is much lighter with the more standard olive eyes.
Photography (and tracking) was not easy in the thick Acacia thorn scrub and yellow grass.
Very cute nonetheless!

How beautiful, how dangerous... But not as hypocrit nor dangerous as some homo sapiens...

These are really well captured Marc, how long did you take stalking them to be able to capture these shots?

Leopards always look so magnificent and confident, they don't look as scary as some other big cats as they almost look down on humans as too easy to even bother with! Still, I wouldn't like to get too close to one!

So cute...,always liked cats.. mine ran away while spending holidays in Switserland some years ago. She couldn't get along with our dog who was also in the car...
