Good morning.
I am a frequent macro shooter and I have the specialised gear for that but with a 28-105 (still my favourite walk around lens) you can do very nice things related to close-up photography, and have fun...
Take care, all these pictures have been taken handhold. If you put this combo on a tripod, eventually more perfect with shutter delay or remote control, the results will be even better...
I consider the 28/-105 still as a very good lens on FX Nikon bodies because of good sharpness, very low distortion, nice focal range, close up mode, compactness, weight and size.
Thanks for looking

These are excellent for shots from a non dedicated lens Stany, well done!
How close is the crop on the one with the fly?

And a 100% crop of the butterfly's eye... Isn't that wonderfull for a $150 euro all in one lens?
a 50% crop
and a 66,7% crop

the crops are quite impressive... the image quality is excellent for such a cheap lens (I like my copy as well, but I never used it for close-ups until now)
