Micro Four Thirds Macro with adapter

Post by James »

Hi Stany,

I got out in the sunshine this morning, it was a real effort but I have now taken some pictures on my G1 ;). These are all taken in the sun on ISO 400 with a Tamron 90mm with a cheap m43 adapter as it is a-mount.

All were manual focus. There is a manual aperture control on the adapter, but it doesn't tell you how many stops - I would guess from the light and shutter speed it would be about f8, but it is a guess!

I focussed by putting the lens at max magnification then moving the camera while looking through the EVF or on the screen depending on the angle I was trying to shoot from.

All are full sized and pretty straight from camera via aperture (too many variables, sorry!)

and a few I liked:

Hi James!
I like the first picture and in general I like the colours those panasonics produce but I did send my GH1 back because I couldn't live with the very slow AF, even with the expensive 45mm F2.8 macro lens. It was even struggling to lock focus on a little white flower, probably because it was overexposed by the sun.
I'll write my panasonic GH1 findings when I have more time. Bottom line, it's nothing for me...
kindest regards,

Stany
