From D200 to D700 consideration...

Post by DionB »

Hello,
I use a D200 and consider the move to D700.
Can I keep using my current lenses?
Thanks.
Regards,

It depends.
If you own DX lenses, the answer is no; if FX, yes.

To add to what Leen said.

Yes you can keep your lenses, if you have lenses with DX in the name then they will try to use a crop from the middle of the camera unless you set it not to. Even if you set it not to then most of the time you will get severe vignetting or even just black edges as the image circle is smaller on DX lenses.

Any that don't have that designation will work fine.

Just remember that if you're used to the D200 you'll find that everything seems to be 1.5x further away with the same lens than it used to.

Good luck with the upgrade.
