This Updater Software cannot be used to install a different language version, or to modify the language version of the application currently installed.

Be sure that you have read and understand the terms of the license agreement before initiating download of this updater software from the links at the bottom of this page.

From the Nikon UK website:
ViewNX is a software application for organising, sorting, displaying, viewing, and editing images captured with digital cameras. This is the full install version of ViewNX 2.1.2 for Windows computers. If you are currently using ViewNX 2 this download will upgrade the existing software to version 2.1.2. Be sure that you have read and understand the terms of the license agreement before initiating download of this software from the links at the bottom of this page.

Modifications enabled in this version
If ViewNX 2 was upgraded to Ver. 2.1.0 or Ver. 2.1.1 without uninstalling Ver. 2.0.0-2.0.3, my Picturetown did not display properly in ViewNX 2. This issue has been resolved.
When transferring files using Nikon Transfer 2:
Image transfer using Nikon Transfer 2 is not possible with the following cameras. Use a card reader to transfer images.
- COOLPIX 910/900/600/300/100
Image transfer using Nikon Transfer 2 with the camera connected to the computer is not possible with the cameras indicated below. Use a card reader to transfer images.
- D1, D1X, D1H
- COOLPIX 950/800/700
- COOLPIX 990/880 (under Windows 7)
GPS log files recorded by the following cameras cannot be transferred using Nikon Transfer 2. Use a card reader to transfer GPS log files.
- COOLPIX AW100/AW100s
3D image files (.MPO files) recorded by the following cameras cannot be transferred using Nikon Transfer 2. Only the JPEG file recorded at the same time as a 3D image file can be transferred. Use a card reader to transfer 3D image files.

Restrictions on Nikon Movie Editor:
1. Movies up to 30 minutes in length can be edited.
2. Depending upon the computer system (CPU), Nikon Movie Editor may quit unexpectedly when multiple movies and/or still images in the storyboard are previewed or a project is exported as a movie file.
The following is a general guide for the number of files that can be safely contained in a Nikon Movie Editor project for different processor types. However, these numbers may vary depending upon other factors in the system.
- Core 2 Duo: A project containing 4 H.264 (1920 × 1080) movies and 2 still images can be previewed and exported.
- Core 2 Quad: A project containing 3 H.264 (1920 × 1080) movies and NO still images can be previewed and exported.
- Core i3: A project containing 3 H.264 (1920 × 1080) movies and NO still images can be previewed and exported.
- Core i5: A project containing 3 H.264 (1920 × 1080) movies and NO still images can be previewed and exported.
- Core i7: A project containing 2 H.264 (1920 × 1080) movies and NO still images can be previewed and exported.
However, when H.264 movies recorded at 720p and lower are used, the number of movie files and still images that can be used in a project increases. When only Motion JPEG (1080p) movies are used, the number of files that can be safely used in a Nikon Movie Editor project changes as follows:
- Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Core i3, Core i5: A project containing up to 30 movies can be previewed and exported. - Core i7: A project containing up to 19 movies can be previewed and exported.

H.264 movie playback under Windows
Tones will be softer and colours will appear lighter in movies played back on a computer running Windows.

NRW (RAW) images:
When images captured at a white balance setting of Auto and an image quality setting of NRW (RAW) are enhanced using ViewNX 2, the results achieved may differ from those achieved with in-camera NRW (RAW) processing.

Ratings applied with the camera:
Ratings applied with the camera in playback mode are not reflected in View NX2 or other applications that support ratings.

COOLPIX L19, L20, S550, and S560 Smile mode:
Scene mode information is not correctly displayed in the Metadata palette for images captured in Smile mode. However, all other operations function properly.

GPS direction information recorded with the COOLPIX AW100/AW100s
- Directions are not displayed on GPS maps.
- Direction information is displayed in GPS map metadata.

COOLPIX AW100/AW100s Underwater mode
The Exposure Mode item in the Metadata palette is blank for images captured in Underwater scene mode.

3D images recorded with the COOLPIX S100
- 3D images (.MPO files) cannot be viewed with ViewNX 2.
- Scene mode information for JPEG files recorded at the same time as 3D images is not correctly displayed in the Metadata palette.
