D800 vs 5DMkIII, 83 €/Mp vs 157 €/Mp...
Mp are not everything, but important nevertheless...
Nikon released a major upgrade from D700 to D800 while keeping the D700 option in their product line. Upto that D800 is priced as a bargain...
Canon added a new, -important- AF system to their 5DMkII successor, for the rest barely something has changed. The 5DMkIII is what the 5DMkII should have been before.
Curious how many thousands Canon users will switch to Nikon in the coming months...

I don't think that many.
People don't like to invest in a whole new system of lenses.
The larger number of megapixels is attractive, but who will really need the difference? Will it be enough to cross over from the "dark side"? And, moreover, megapixel is not everything! And, nowadays, Nikon is ahead, but who will tell who will be in a year to come?
(In the meantime I am glad I made the choise for Nikon )
