Anyone with a d7000 and a D800?

Post by sandor »

Can anyone help me to get two iso 25600 NEf files: one from a D7000 and one from a D800 in Dx crop mode?
Scenes should be identical. Both pictures should be taken with the same lens and light conditions should fit the high iso (so no shutter speeds of 1/500th sec).

Can't help you with that, sold the D7000 and D700 to fund the D800. I did compare the 7000 with D3S and D3 however. I expect the D800 in crop to do as well or maybe have a slight edge over the D7000. I doubt this slight improvement would justify 2000+ euros to use a D800 just in crop mode.
Used full frame you would win one or two stops sampling down.

Hi guys.

Spanjaart: judging from the jpg's at higher isos presented at NR, you are dead right.
But we should not forget the fact that the D800 shines as a Fx camera. Downsampling...hmm. done that. It's true, it helps. But it also means extra work

Guy: Let me know if you get it. If you can help me with these NEFs I would appreciate it very much !
