D800, bird in flight

Post by Dodi »

Well, a pigeon is a bird is it. When you live in a flat in the city, not many raptors flying around. So I have to do with an occasional pigeon fly-by. The D800 did not let me down in terms of focusing speed and accuracy.
Made a series of 4 images, only one was OOF - but that was because the bird was nearly completely behind a chimney :) These are crops, you can see the crops larger on Flickr by clicking on the picture (and dare I say, rendered with less artefacts than the by Flickr automatically downsized versions appearing here). Lens used: 70-200 VRII at 200mm.

AF settings?

Post by Stany Buyle »

Good evening Dominique,
Already 3 messages with a question what your AF settings are, and how you recommend them to be set.
Thanks in advance,
Kindest regards,
Stany

If I remember well, this was with AF-C, 9 points. I was tracking the bird.
