d7(easy iso) from D8xx in D500 ?

I was shooting with D5 all weekend. Great camera for indoor sports, great camera for everything else, even though D8xx or D500 might be a better choice for several applications.

I was struggling with no easy iso (d7(easy iso) from D8xx) though...
It seems the same with D500 which I will get today or tomorrow...
In relation to this and D3s vs D5 I found the iso location on my D3s way easier to manipulate than on D5.

I am not enthusiast about the new iso button location and the lack of easy iso I'm used to.
While looking through the viewfinder the new iso button location made me accidentally change exposure to +1 with no recoverable highlights as a result in some pictures.
I didn't find a way to change the main command dial to easy iso, neither in the manual...

Did I miss something?

Thanks in advance for your reaction or help.

Kindest regards,

Stany

No "easy iso" as a deal breaker

Easy iso is a basic camera function for me since many years. Rather than struggle with 2 fingers for a thumb or one finger operation I am very disappointed that D500 seems to lack easy iso.
So disappointed that this might be a deal breaker for me...

While Iso button has changed place as well vs D8xx it becomes double unattractive:
•If easy iso would not exist on D8xx I find it easier to push the iso button with left hand finger or thumb while turning the main command dial with my right hand.
•With no easy iso and a different iso button location D500 is no perfect companion for shooting together with a D8xx body...

It is a dual camera body issue. To catch the moment 2 identical body layouts are important, otherwise you loose precious time. D500 being different complicates things together with D8xx.
With everything related to iso button having changed in D500, D750 and D7200 seem closer for simultaneous handling to D8xx than D500. D7200 with limited speed and crippled buffer is no option though...
Sony is very interesting about this with 7s and 7R, one for speed, one for pixels, but same bodies...

So rather than pick up my D500 pre order I wait a little. Wait till a firmware upgrade which might bring easy iso to D500 or wait to see what a D810 successor brings.

Just my thoughts...

Kindest regards,

Stany

Couldn't resist... ;) Picked up my D500 yesterday at Art & Craft.

First impressions seem to match the hype. :o
