I knew about the existence of that TC for some time, and I just found a ridiculously cheap copy in my usual shop...
That thing is just a miracle... put it on a pro-body, add an AI/AIS lens and the rest is pure magic, AF is working !
I used it on the D2x with the 24f2AIS ans the AF is almost as snappy as with a normal AF-D lens, just incredible !!! The drawback of course is the 1.6 conversion factor making the lens much longer.
I'll rediscover my MF lenses now. Really a lot of fun to use !
I'll be back with a full report (and examples) in the coming few days.
By the way, I already did some testing and it does NOT work on non-pro bodies like the D200, other connections are used on the lens than for "standard" lenses. Pro-bodies, however seem to support the specific communication protocol. I would like to know if it works on a D700...

Missed this post. Thanks for posting. Very strange...Seems very interesting for teles like the 300 F2.8 where the newer versions aren't optically better but extremeley expensive...
