Any 5DMkII users here already???

Post by Stany Buyle »

Just curious and I believe Michel Defeld bought one...
Personally I'm tempted by the video option, it just creates new opportunities with the same tool. Another way to capture precious moments...
kindest regards,

Stany

Hy Stany and every body

I just came back yesterday from a "tour de France"
I have received the body yesterday morning.
So it's a bit to fresh to give my impressions.
The point is that with the very first images I took (6.400ISO) it seems to be very interesting.
I will give you more details about my very first trials within few days.

I just made a trial at different ISO values. The ones here are at 6.400 ISO. The image taken inside my home are illuminated by leds on the vertical element of the furniture and with economic lamp of 9w

I made more trials that you can see at the address http://www.pbase.com/brainois/test_5d_mkii

Images are not treated except transformation from CR2 to JPG

I hope to give you interesting informations

Hi Michel,

Thanks for posting. I downloaded what says the "original" iso6400 (http://i.pbase.com/o2/85/706785/1/10709 ... 341825.jpg) file but it is only a 1200x800 file. Can you post a link to the real original file because I would like to see the noise while cropping...

And more, did you check about the black dots-failure where they talk so much about on the Dpreview-Canon forum. It seems to happen in the neigbourhood of light bulbs...

Thanks in advance.

Stany the two first images at this address: http://www.pbase.com/brainois/test_5d_mkii are full frame. You cant use them.

I did not made deeper test until now.

You tested the thing with PS does this mean that you tested the CR2 file or the JPEG one?

I have been told that DxO will deliver mid January the very first modules for th 5D MkII.
I am sure to obtain better results with DxO than with DPP. But today I just have DPP to transform the CR2 files from the 5D MkII to JPG.
