Adobe Cloud software users data already hacked...

I refuse to pay for Adobe online software and one of my reasons to refuse has already been proven.
Article on Dpreview: Adobe accounts hacked, data exposed for 2.9 million customers

I will only update my PS6 if they release a classic DVD version.

Online software is nothing for me. To many private data is already exposed with the internet.
Exhibitionism used to be strictly forbidden, now is seems to be a life style...

I completely agree with your view. When i read that Adobe went to the cloud system and asked their clients to pay for monthly fees to have access to their newest software, i decided not to use theirs anymore. At first earning a lot of money for selling their products (PS2,3,4,5,6 etc) and then sent us away...Bah.

Same here.
But, what software will you be using in the future? I chose for Photoshop Elements. It can do almost anything its brother can do as well. However, because it is Adobe again, so I 'll keep an eye on other software like Corell as well.

Nikon Capture NX2 as I do already for many years. It only lacks a word editor.
I use PS5 for other applications.

Now everything goes well with PS5.
But in the future, when you would be upgrading to CS9, what will happen then....

Since the Adobe debacle, we started using FastStone. A rather simple, but very satisfying software which can do almost everything (but much easier) than the
Photoshops' do. Is really worth looking at. And it is for FREE. The NX software we never tried.

I know and use Faststone. It's mentioned in my recent topic "16 Photoshop alternatives" and it is the best software you can find to open a corrupted file.

I suppose -and hope- Adobe will be losing a lot of users. Soon -in a few years time- there will be plenty of software on the market that can do the same and more than Adobe Photoshop can do at the moment. It is just a matter of time when we will see Corel and others enter the marketplace. This latest hack will not be without consequences for Adobe. I, for example, didn't buy any updates for a few years and I didn't plan to do so just to add to their profit. And I 'm not the only one, I do know.
Enough is enough!

As a professional creative suite user there is no way getting around the cloud.
I get a scope of the industry standard software, bar none. 50 Euros/month is manageable if you make money with Photoshop and Indesign.
If I didn´t earn my living with this I would still use Photoshop. It´s the ultimate imaging app.

Adobe starts peddling already with their Cloud software

While their Cloud strategy doesn't work (Because most people want a DVD, independent from the internet) Adobe starts peddling and cut prices and conditions with their cloud software.
I am sure they finally will return to DVD and software download sales.
