Thanks Guy, really interesting as visual comparison. I understand that your work is not exhaustive should it be possible for you to add some other soft just like DxO - Noise ninja - capture one, etc....
I must say that looking at the results you I wouldn't say that LR3 is working good. Comparing the information being there in your Original NEF I see that LR3 is smoothing hardly the image. For sure it's an ISO 3200 but I would not be surprise the DxO will get a better result out of your original NEF.
If you could do more test I will be deeply interested on.
