I was asked by my Commander to throw the first pitch in a AA baseball game and I obliged. I handed my D700 to a rookie photographer and asked him to just let the shutter rip and to focus on me. I don't think he succeeded in that since the background seems more in focus than me. I set up the camera as best I could to try and capture this shot. Anyway, I felt honored to have the priveledge to throw out the first pitch and to represent the Air Force all at the same time. There were lots of kids there and they seem to look up to the military folks. Enjoy...

Re: Throwing the first pitch
You have to look at original size to see that the focus is behind you, it is still a nice photo though. You must have been very proud! Congratulations
Those pitchers uniforms...
... sure are strange :)
Thanks for your service - I'm former Navy - I appreciate and understand your sacrifice and efforts.
Proof that great equipment does not make the photographer! At least your in the shot. My mother has been know to only capture the feet - how she does this I will never know...
