Hi Anton,
The first shot has an enormous potential. I would lift shadows a bit more and go even more HDR... Also I would crop more...
Just my thoughts...
Thanks for posting.
kindest regards,

Stany
I like better one good shot in a day than 10 bad ones in a second...

I don't agree with Stany about the first one. But I always hate too obvious HDR. In my opinion it is just right.
The second image is, in my opinion, too bright; it is supposed to be a night shot, but is like daylight. But that is just my opinion and almost nothing is as subjective as opinions about photography. ;-)

For me it comes always down to the same (old) principle: a matter of taste.
HDR i personnally do not like so much, so when i saw the first picture i was thinking HDR? So for me certainly no +.
Cropping: not sure as well: one might loose the nice bifurcation of the Seine...(or part)
Nightscene: agree with Leen - a little bit too light for me.
But: how are our PC screens calibrated towards each other (and our eyes...)
Anton: liked very much your captures and they are bringing the right atmosphere, so we were also a little bit in Paris that day. Thks.

Leen, Gilbert, thanks for your contribution - and obviously...to each his own :D although I tend to agree about the second one being too bright - might be that Place Vendôme is particularly well illuminated at night? ;)
As to pic no 1, yes, the cropping might not be optimal...however I beg to differ, no hdr whatsoever, just playing a bit with contrast curves in Nik Color Efex
Cheers guys, look forward to more pics and comments on that friendly forum!

Love your Paris shots, i'm a big Paris fan anyway.
I wouldn't change anything on the first one, nice view on the Seine.
And yes, the second one is slightly to bright maybe but overal not disturbing to my eyes and also here i wouldn't change a thing.
