My D800 + Sigma 50 1.4 in the theater :)

My local laymen´s theater asked me to take images of some rehearsal for the local news paper.
I do take portraits of the team with my daylight lamps with the D800, but this was the first time I tried the D800 for this extreme available light job. Before I used my D3s, the Sony NEX C3, the Nikon J1 for snapshots of plays.

Let me say that I was very pleasantly surprised. I love using the Sigma 50 1.4 @ 1.8, it´s in the Exif. The images are cropped and downscaled to 1000 pix.
The D800 is great at focussing in low light. If AF missed downscaling still delivered great results. ISO 3200 is wonderful.

Wow - rather impressive capabilities of the D800 @ iso 3200! I have yet to try mine in low light, as opportunities are rather scarce for self-proclaimed outdoor photographers :D

Hehe, I like the results at ISO 100 much better, too :)

Goodmorning Pam,

Looking really good at this 3200 ISOm and so it seems the performance of the Sigma is also very nice....
