A teenager anno 2013 with D800e at iso 6400...

Post by Stany Buyle »

Image
Image taken handheld with D800e and 85mm AF-S F1.8, iso 6400, F1.8 and 1/60 sec

Above file has noise reduction set to "0" in Capture NX before saving to TIFF (no noise reduction), no sharpening, no post processing.
Image was taken with picture control set to standard.

Thanks for looking,
Stany

I have seen other posts of images from the 800 and 800E and what amazes me is many of them have no sharpening or post processing, and they llok clean and clear. At that high ISO this is very impressive.
I have a few D600 bodies and I also, am suprized at the clean and sharp images I get at higher ISO.
Sure makes me NOT miss my old film days.

Nice shot, Stany, but your teenager daughter didn´t look very impressed :)

I have shot many photos for a theater group and the AF is very reliable in near darkness.
It seems that the new AF system is very complex and many people get frustrated when it fails in easier situations.
What a learning curve I have been through, but it was worth it.

Hi Sam, nice to read you here.
What amazes me even more is the focus accuracy in this series of shots. Despite relative lowlight and F1.8 and while aiming on her eyes or eyelashes, my D800e nailed focus every time.

Hi Pam, thanks for your comment and reaction. She was "facebooking", and that "facebooking trance" I wanted to capture, which I did. :D

The thing that surprises me (pleasantly) is the way it handles the various colours of the light. It is exceptional!
