Portrait with D700 & 28-105 F3.5-4.5...
Picture straight OOC, only resized for the web.
After 24-120VR(too soft for my taste), 24-70F2.8(To bulky, too heavy, no VR for that price and lens shade until 42mm while using D700 PUFlash), 28-70F2.8(too heavy, too bulky), tamron28-75 F2.8(had a lemon I guess...) and 24-85 F2.8-F4(tacksharp but too much distortion for my taste), my 28-105 F3.5-4.5 became my standard lens on my D700: Light, compact, sharp, very interesting focal range, very low distortion, nearly no vignetting and great close-up ability.
When I need extreme sharpness in that focal range I use 24,50,105mm primes.
Thaks for your attention.
kindest regards,
Stany
