Nice portrait; he will be happy with it. The advantage of this working with a very clouded sky is very well demonstrated by the relatively light shadow under his cap. Well done!

Leen thanks! I love shooting outdoor portraits on cloudy days.....natures softbox....it was nice to give my old 14n an outing as well. For all its foibles I still love the output from it. I like the bokeh from the 70-300 vr on it.....its a very fussy camera when it comes to lens choice's.

So do I. About 70% of my portraiture is done outside.
Often I prefer a slightly more directional light, but with people wearing a baseball cap this heavy overcast sky is more preferable.
