could we see crops ? the pictures are very nice but not different than what I could get with a D70 (at this websize of course !) I would be interested in seeing the kind of extra details we can see when using a D3x for instance.

Not only "@ web size..." Using a tele a D300 will give slightly more detail than a D3X because the FL is multiplied by 1.5 which makes it a 12Mp picture @ 600mm where the D3X "only" delivers 10Mp file in crop mode. With a D70 you will get a slightly more detailed image @ 400mm than with a D700 because D700 crop is only 5Mp. In reality while the pixel quality of the D700 is better they will be about equal, @ least @ iso 200. going to higher isos the D700 will blow away the D70 IQ, but for a light object as the moon iso 200 is possible...Guy Van Hooveld wrote:could we see crops ? the pictures are very nice but not different than what I could get with a D70 (at this websize of course !)
