Piano genius...

Post by Stany Buyle »

A couple of weeks ago I met Serg Van Gennip @ a Dutch billiards competition. The sports director mentioned to me that this talented billiards player is a famous Dutch piano player. While my daugther loves piano I tried to make contact. Chat was about music, billiards and photography (I know very little about music but I adore listening piano...). Finally this charismatic, humble and intelligent young virtuoso invited us for a exchange day of billiards and music which we enjoyed last sunday.
Serg is born in Russia and made his first steps into music world in St.-Petersburg. The step into musical world wasn't strange while the his whole family has some relation to music. His most famous far relative is Sergej Rachmaninov, legendary composer and pianist. His first teacher was his mother who is also a very gifted pianist and a lovely woman...
My daugther was in heaven, my wife and myself have never been soo impressed about a musical talent as we were with Serg, eventhough we heard quite a bit already...
You can see some of his work here: http://www.serg.vangennip.com/www/piano.html

Of course I made some pictures.. The one I like the best here underneath...

Thanks for your attention,

The first photo is magical with the slow shutter speed! Thanks for sharing it. The white balance is also spot on especially for an existing light photo. Great work!

Goodmorning.
The picture with the hands in motion is fantastic. Perhaps the piano company could be interested for theri catalogue...
Passioned by beautiful pictures, not a very active photographer though...
Regards,
Vincent

PS I use google translate a lot to write better English. So, if mistake, I's google, not me. ;)

Have you sold this image yet?

The piano maker should be sending you a check! I really like it and could see many players enthralled by it!

Thanks David. I did send the link to the piano maker twice, he even doesn't respond... I'll have to PP the piano brand name to disappear perhaps...
kindest regards,

Stany
