Book published with my 5D pictures...
A few weeks ago a book (they call it a photo-essay) was published and an exhibition started with images that I made from the Belgian painter Fred Bervoets. All were made with my 5D. The name of the book is (in Dutch) 'De Witte Panter'. In the exhibition are many images that are not in the book. Hope you enjoy it.

Dear David,
Thanks for your fine words and not enough time to put newer series on pbase, from time to time I will add some on our own website (www.dieveeschamf.com)
With kind regards,

Great, quite special portraiture. Congrats.
Passioned by beautiful pictures, not a very active photographer though...

Vincent
PS I use google translate a lot to write better English. So, if mistake, I's google, not me.

Hello Vincent,
Thanks very much for your fine appreciation!

It is quite amazing to meet you
If only through you images. You are indeed one of the true photographers. Many of us have a lot to learn, and likely a skill that will never approach yours. We can take solace in the fact that you share your talents with the rest of us.
If you have a moment... What process did you use to get the perfectly balanced B&W 'tones'?

HI David,
Thanks a lot for the fine words. Well it's hard working, a lot of thinking is involved, anticipation and always being concentrated and interested. With pleasure.
Well I shoot b&w in the camera (+ Raw) and mostly use the jpg's, only if I have to correct the contrast and light I use the Raw files (or if clients ask me for color images). In Photoshop only using levels (if needed) and adjusting the contrast and for some a bit of dodging or burning and that's it. I like the outcome of the files in the 5D camera's a lot, for me they are (or were) the closest to analog results.
Greetings,
Dirk

Hello Dirk,
Stunning pictures. The light is so beautiful and the dynamic range so high. Your work shows me that a good photographer doesn´t need a lot of postprocessing.
Greetings,
Rudy

Quite extraordinary work of great humour and depth.
I get the impression everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves in its making.
I wish someone had been able to do something similar for an artist uncle of mine but alas
he passed without anyone giving him such a tribute and when I was too young.

Thanks very much and yes everyone enjoyed it and also everyone is happy with the results. The book is also selling very well (it's printed in duotone and that gives a rich tonality).
I can imagine that. Often people are thinking about something when it's to late. Another professional photographer who's well known here in Belgium could throw his hair out when he saw the book and exhibition, he knows the artist for a much longer period as I do and he was so sad that he didn't make series about him.
Greetings,
Dirk

Hi Geoff,
Thanks a lot. Just received a mail a few hours ago to ask if I'm interested to show them in an exhibition in Osaka, Japan.
With kind regards,
Dirk
