How to post a picture on this forum...

================================================================================================================================================
Read this first: As a matter of fact, the title "how to post a picture on this forum.." is a little misleading: You cannot post a directly to this forum, what you do is simply make the picture visible on this forum while including the URL surrounded by the [Img]-tags in the text you type on this forum. It is working this way on about all photography-fora on the internet.
!!! Your picture has to be hosted somewhere on a server and it needs an address or URL like http://www.aphotoserver.be/Gallery/MyPicture1.jpg

For uploading a picture to a host, you need a FTP client, a program that tranfers you file from your computer to a host. A good choise for a FTP program is downloadable(even a version for free) from Ipswitch and many others.

Here underneath you see a screenshot how it works. On the left side the content of your computer, on the right side your ftp adress where you will host your picture.

1. Before doing anything else, resize your picture to a maximum size of 1024x1024 pix, everything that suits inside this size, will work fine.
Save your file as a jpeg file and upload it to your ftp server as explained briefly here above.

2.Log in to the forum with your user name and password

3. Click on "new topic" to start a new topic with text and eventually images
or
click on "postreply" to react to an existing topic, eventually while adding images.

4. Enter a subject description in the subject window (f.i. "A macro from this morning with D300 &tamron90mm)

5. Type text in the text window if you want to...

6. Add the URL of the image you want to add in your topic or reaction, f.i.: http://www.myphotogallery.name/fotosOpForum/ma21.jpg

Image

7. Click the whole URL, (as you do when you copy/paste...)

Image

8. While the whole URL is blue, click on the "Img" button.Automatically "[img]" and "" will appear in front and behind your URL...

Image

9. you will see as this sample text: [img]http://www.fotografie.fr/fotosn4/ma21.jpg

10.Now click "preview" button and check if everything is OK...

11. You will see this: (sample) eventually with the sample text you see below this sample picture...

Picture taken with D200 & tamron 90mm macro, 1/250sec, F11, iso320, AF-S...

12. If your message is OK, click "submit".

There are other ways to post pictures on this website, I'll explain later...
Have fun!
Thanks for contributing to this site.
