The DP2 M - love comes from the most unexpected places ...

I found it appropriate to quote from an old romantic song, as what I´m experiencing these days is some love affair with photography.

After I was done reading my intention to buy the Merrill once it gets cheaper sometime next year got very shaky. A few days later I ordered the Sigma D2 M and cancelled my NEX 6 kit preorder as I cannot justify spending 2.000 Euros within a few weeks for cameras that will probably never be used commercially. I would consider the NEX 6 a snapshot camera and the DP2 M ... well, what is it? There is one thing it really does well, it´s the camera for non-moving micro detail in good lighting situations ;)

Here are two samples with 100 % crops. These were hand held, I will have to use a tripod with the Merrill yet:
