Nokia 808 PureView info and user review

Post by Stany Buyle »

My wife made me very happy with a new partly for work/partly for fun-tool...

I was searching for a long time already a really compact cam that can take nice pictures and do eventuelly some video of a decent quality.
After lots of debating it was Steve Bingham who convinced me that the Nokia 808 Pure View Smartphone is the only Smartphone that fits in the philosophy of a photography addicted person... While I fit in that category - :D - the Nokia 808 became my new phone.

First impressions were great with the original firmware, after the update it's even better.
Photo quality is simply stunning taking into consideration that it basically is... a phone! Nice deep colours, nice basic creative mode, lots of detail and still a lot to discover for me... Will write a complete user review end of this month.

Kindest regards,

Stany

I was leaning on the side of the billiard table to get a more steady position.

First impressions about IQ:
:D Detail is impressing.
:( AWB is off under artificial light. I am curious if it works more perfect with manual WB set. :?

Nokia PC Suite - Where are the Backup Files - How to backup

Post by Stany Buyle »

Nokia PC Suite - Where are the Backup Files - and how to backup them was a mystery to me even after googling and binging for hours, so I tried to make a backup system for myself...

When you open Nokia PC Suite you can see all messages , contacts and more that you stored there after syncronising but the destiny folder seems unfindable for messages and contacts. (images and videos destiny folders are no problem to find...)

While I want a safety back up of everything (all messages since Phone 1st use) on an external HD -just for in case- I found the following workaround.

Step 1: Open PC Nokia Suite

Step 2: connect your Phone

Step 3: open the messages you want to back up externally by clicking "CTRL A"
Image

And simply drag them to your messages in your Nokia 808 Phone and drop them there... ("drag and drop" like in windows explorer and other applications)

Step 4: make a backup of your Phone DB and store it wherever you want.

Or you backup on another location...

And you will find the file as this on your external HD

Step 5: If you prefer to empty the messages from your Phone again, for in case of loss or theft ( :!: don't forget to delete the internal BA as well), you can and in case you crash or re-install Windows, you have a total backup for Nokia PC suite.
