Astro-First starlight with modified Canon 40D

Post by Dodi »

Hi guys,
Once in a while, and during holidays, I aim the Canon upwards to the sky.
This is an image made back in 2009 with a modified Canon 40D. The IR blocker in front of the chip was replaced by weaker blocker to allow more red light to enter the camera.
Image

Total exposure time 60 minutes in median stacked exposures of 240 seconds with Canon 35L lens.

Best regards

Dodi

Nice to meet you Dominique.
I’m not common with astrophotography but I can imagine that it’s very difficult to realise such a picture.
Congratulations!
With kind regards,
Gerard Duits, photographer.
