Test and warning

Post by Stany Buyle »

So after I uninstalled the NEF codec 1.0 by Ardfry( which was working flawless, also with D7000 files) I tested the Windows Raw Codec version 16.0.0652.0621 which was released yesterday.
:!: For the underneath screenshots I opened simultaneously Nikon ViewNX2 and windows explorer for the same images.

With D1H NEF files it works...

With D700 NEF files it works as well... (sample as shown in the screenshot underneath)
It shows a little icon of the program you standard open the file with...

But with D7000 files it does not work!

Message in Windows Photo Viewer says: "This image cannot be opened. This file extention is not supported by PhotoViewer or the most recent updates have not been installed."

Curiously "sometimes" it does work with D7000 NEF file for thumbnails...
