belay a new purchase for some time..

the gains in performance are real.. cost is a factor at present; many laptops have > 120gb drives.. A lot of SSD drives are at that capacity now but not exactly cheap.

They will come down in price as take up grows.

If you are fortunate enough to have a twin HD bay laptop (mine isn't) you could get away with a smaller capacity SSD for boot and pagefile etc and the other for storage.

caveats: you need SATA interface.. not PATA/IDE

Interesting Stany!

Hi Alan, glad to see you here.
The performance increase SSD drives provide is extraordinary indeed. Even though there is an even faster system(RevoDrive with PCIe conn), take care if it has TRIM support. Without TRIM support your PC performance will slowdown as it get filled with info.
Also, there are IDE SSD's(Transcend TS32GSSD25-), though much slower than there SATA counterparts.
kindest regards,

Stany
