The R5/RF800-combo is really a dream for birding. Compact & light, sharp & good image stabilization and relatively fast AF. Perfect for handheld shooting & lugging around for hours & days, without tripod need.
The advantage vs heavy lenses is that by the time your tripod is set, the bird is gone...
Underneath image was shot in RAW and converted in DPP4 with +3 shadow area lift.
Resized from approx 3000px widest side to 1250px & ©.
Native OOC sharpness, contrast, color tone and saturation.
No extra post-processing.
In-camera settings are pasted in the image.
