3 from today, same gear, same software for conversion from raw, etc., but these ones are heavily cropped...
NO noise reduction applied.

Hi Stany,
I really enjoyed your wonderful pictures !
The low noise in the cropped images is surprising to me. Is there no noise reduction in the RAW to JPG conversion?
Best regards,
Carlos

Re: Zwaluwen in vlucht - Swallows in flight
Good morning Carlos!
Thanks for your kind reaction.
All posted images are as they came after conversion from RAW to JPEG in reduced size with Canon DPP 4 software from my CF express card. (For myself, I keep always a full-sized TIFF copy of the images I like the best.)
No noise reduction, no sharpening, no PP... Sometimes some shadow lifting as the only manipulation.
The very underestimated advantage of brand software ( Canon with DPP4 as well as Nikon with NX studio, -and Capture NX-D before that ) is that all in-camera settings are retained while doing the conversion.
When ready I use PS5 to put "©Stany Buyle", nothing more.
Unfortunately, when I compare the original jpeg & the PS jpeg as a pixel peeper, I clearly notice quality reduction already.
Kindest regards,
Stany
