From the Nikon website:

Main features of Z 9 firmware Ver.3.00

1. Evolution of video functions such as "high-resolution zoom" that expands the possibilities of expression
"High-resolution zoom" is a function that allows zooming beyond the telephoto edge of the lens with high image quality when recording video. When shooting 4K UHD video, zooming up to 2x is possible while maintaining resolution, unlike general electronic zoom and post-shooting editing enlargement, by cropping while shooting at a maximum size of 8K UHD. Since zooming is possible regardless of the lens used, you can enjoy zoom expression while taking advantage of a very shallow depth of field, such as an aperture of F1.2, when using a single focal length lens. It is also possible to assign "high-resolution zoom" to the Fn1/Fn2 buttons on the camera and to the Fn ring/control ring of the lens. When zooming at the touch of a button, a constant speed that cannot be obtained manually※1With the smoothness of the control ring, you can zoom at the speed you want to express when zooming.
In addition, the "high-frequency flicker reduction" function can now be used for videos and the wireless remote control※2Supports timecode synchronization of multiple Z 9s. It also supports ATOMOS' UltraSync BLUE, which allows synchronization of shooting and recording devices including other companies' products via Bluetooth, making video editing easy.

※1You can choose the zoom speed from "Slow", "Medium", or "Fast" in the settings.
※2Since the time code is reset using the shutter-release signal, still, images are not taken even if the shutter-release button of the camera is pressed.

2. Addition of the C60 to meet the diverse needs of continuous photography
In addition to the C30 and C120, the C60 is capable of continuous shooting of approximately 19-megapixel still images at approximately 60 frames per second.※Added. Focusing on news reporting, sports, and wild bird photography that perform high-speed continuous photography, we meet the diverse needs of photographers.
In addition, the usability of the group playback display during continuous shooting has been improved. The addition of "automatic continuous playback," which automatically displays the images of the group of continuous shooting sequentially after displaying the first image, provides a more comfortable workflow for photographers who frequently use high-speed continuous photography for sports and wild bird photography.
In addition, the "High-frequency flicker reduction" function added in firmware Ver. 2.10 has not only been enabled in movie shooting mode but has also been added to the still image shooting menu to improve usability.

※Fixed imaging range DX. If a DX lens is attached while "C120" is set, it will be changed to "C60" and the imaging range will be fixed to DX. You can also use the "Pre-Captcha" function.

3. Smoother shooting with improved operability and various displays
The menu items and operation buttons assigned in the custom menu have been expanded, and frequently used functions can be accessed smoothly. In addition, the "Prioritize shooting settings" in "View Mode Settings (Still Image Live View)", which allows the set exposure to be reflected in the still image live view, has been improved, and it is now possible to select whether or not to reflect the exposure setting when the Speedlite is attached. Since the exposure of the background can be checked before shooting, you can check the finish of the background in advance that is not affected by the flash emission. In addition, new functions such as "Image Size (DX)" that allow you to set the image size for the "DX" imaging range in advance, FX/DX switching of the imaging range, and "Hi-Res Zoom" when shooting video can be assigned, have been improved.
In addition, various displays have been improved to be easier to see and use, such as the vertical position display of images and i-menus during playback, and the addition of "file information" to the type of image information displayed during playback.

4. AF-related improvements and other features
Improved AF low brightness performance (0.5 EV low brightness limit)
Reduces focus transfer for obstacles crossing in front of the subject during "3D-tracking". In addition, red has been added to the focus point display color. Ensures easy visibility of focus points even in snowy backgrounds
When multiple cameras are set as master cameras, the "Remote Camera Priority Connection" function has been added to allow you to easily switch between master cameras.
Supports FTPS protocol that encrypts communication content and enables safer and faster image transmission
