Underneath a sample situation why I moved from Nikon Z to EOS R5... Even though I considered the Nikon Z'AF as very good in normal circumstances, in some occasions the Z' AF was frustrating compared to my beloved D500...

After 2 years of unsuccessful attempts with my Z7 & Z6 to capture this kind of kingfisher' action with my Nikon Z6 & Z7, -even when combined with the outstanding 500 mm F5.6 PF prime-, yesterday I went for a first kingfisher encounter with my EOS R5.
Because I wanted maximum tele for my first kingfisher session of this season, I used my RF 800 F11.
Initially, I did not have any plans to capture action... I my mind there is still a bit of the idea that an F11 lens doesn't work for this kind of photography...
Far beyond my expectations, and where my Nikon Z7 & Z6 NEVER even came close to succeed, my EOS R5 even did better/faster than my former D4, D850 & D500 DSLRs did.
As a matter of fact, I don't know of any professional DSLR that can focus quickly with an F11 800mm lens ...
After long time of waiting, kingfisher arrived... Time as you see in the exif is 12:02:59
OMG, he's gone...Time as you see in the exif is 12:03:02
What's this? Time as you see in the exif is 12:03:03
OMG...Time as you see in the exif is 12:03:03

To me, the Canon EOS R5 has the AF of the D5 & D500 combined with the IQ of a D850, and all this at more than double speed and, last but not least, with perfect AF compatibility for F11 lenses...
I bought my EOS R5 @ Audiophil in Aachen-Germany.

Thanks for looking,
Kindest regards,
