My RF 100-400/5.6-8.0 IS and RF 16/2.8 STM arrived !!! - WITHOUT suncaps...
My RF 100-400/5.6-8.0 IS and RF 16/2.8 STM arrived !!!
Very happy to get them but very disappointed the suncap for the RF 100-400/5.6-8.0 IS has to be bought separately, just like I experienced with the 800mm F11.
€ 729 for an F5.6-F8 is already very expensive, even if it would be optically excellent (what I still have to test...), no suncap included @ this price is VERY disappointing, it smells like cheating customers from Canon's side.
The RF 16mm F2.8, no suncap neither, very annoying technically as well but price-wise totally understandable @ € 339 for a 16mm F2.8...
Even if you agree with a suncap supplied as an accessory to be paid extra, they are not available neither... Don't they know about flare ruining pictures @ Canon?
Dirk Vermeirre , -my friend, co-founder of this forum and digital photography mentor- proved me the extreme importance of a suncap with samples, even on a rainy day.
Canon, the no-suncap-company.
Will be continued... Soon...

RF 100-400/5.6-8.0 IS - moonshot
A moonshot with R5 & RF 100-400/5.6-8.0 IS, taken handheld, 100% crop.
Not the sharpness I expected... , which might be the result of some light smog or atmospheric circumstances...
